• What does the Sandpoint Future Season consist of?
    • League Games –  Some teams participate in a competitive basketball league in Post Falls.  League play starts in November and runs through mid-December.
    • Tournament Play – Teams will also participate in a variety of tournaments in the Inland Northwest throughout the season as well as in our home tournament,  the Sandpoint Invitational.  Most teams will play in 4 – 5 tournaments, depending on the coaches and team availability.
    • Practices – Teams will typically practice twice per week.  Practices begin in October.  Most teams wrap up their season in February.
  • Who needs to tryout? – All players, including those who played in a previous year, are required to tryout.  For more information on tryouts, see the link below:

  • What is the cost? – Player dues will be in the amount of $300/player which will provide the following:
    • League entry fee
    • 2-3 tournament entry fees
    • Gym use
    • AAU card / Required insurance
    • Practice equipment
    • Sandpoint Future shooting shirt
    • Sandpoint Future tee shirt
    • Uniform costs will be in addition to the player dues as each team will have different uniform needs.  A full uniform kit (jersey and shorts) is $100. Uniforms typically last players several years.
    • Scholarships are available in the event of a financial hardship.  Please contact sandpointfuture@gmail.com so we can work out a plan to allow your athlete to participate.

  • What is AAU? – AAU, or Amateur Athletic Union, is one of the largest, non-profit, volunteer, multi-sport event organizations in the world.  AAU is dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs.  Sandpoint Future basketball will be participating in AAU sanctioned basketball events, such as leagues and tournaments.
  • What is an AAU Card? – Each player and coach, including assistant coaches, is required to have a current AAU card. This is a membership card that also provides supplemental liability and medical insurance during AAU-sanctioned events and activities.  An AAU card will be provided with your Sandpoint Future registration.
